Terms of Use
Last updated: 24 October 2026
In short: UniProf helps you find professors and send them personal emails from your own email account. You are the sender of every email and responsible for what it says. Use it for genuine, individual academic outreach only, never for spam.
1. About these terms
These terms apply to your use of UniProf (the website at uniprofs.in and the app, together "UniProf", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using UniProf you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use UniProf.
2. Your account
- You must give accurate information and keep your sign-in details safe. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- You must be at least 18 years old, or have permission from a parent or guardian.
- One person, one account. Accounts can't be shared or sold.
- New accounts must verify their email address before using UniProf.
3. Sending emails from your account
- Emails are sent from the email account you connect (for example Gmail or your university mail). You are the sender and responsible for every email sent from UniProf on your behalf, including emails written with AI help.
- Before an automatic list starts, you confirm that you have read its emails. Read every email before it is sent.
- You must have the right to use the email account you connect, and follow its provider's rules.
- You can connect one sending email per UniProf account. It can't be changed without contacting support.
4. Acceptable use
UniProf is for genuine, individual academic outreach, such as asking about research positions, internships or PhD openings. You must not:
- send spam, bulk promotional or commercial email, or emails unrelated to your own academic interests;
- send misleading content, impersonate anyone, or claim qualifications, publications or experience you don't have;
- harass anyone, or keep contacting a professor who has asked you not to;
- copy, export, scrape or resell professor information, or try to obtain professors' email addresses;
- get around limits (daily sending limit, one email per professor, list size, file size), share accounts, or use automated tools against the service;
- upload documents you don't have the right to share, or anything unlawful or harmful;
- try to break, probe or overload UniProf's security or systems.
You must follow the laws that apply to you and to the people you email, including anti-spam and data protection laws.
5. Limits
To keep outreach personal and protect your email account, UniProf applies limits, including a daily email limit that depends on your plan, one email per professor, up to 100 professors per automatic list, and up to 5 documents of 100 KB each. Emails that fail to send don't count toward your daily limit. We may change limits to keep the service working well.
6. AI writing
Some plans include AI writing. The AI drafts emails from your profile, your CV summary and the professor's public work. AI can make mistakes. It's a draft for you to check, edit and approve; you remain responsible for the final email.
7. Professor information
Professor profiles come from public professional sources and are provided to help you find relevant researchers. They may be incomplete or out of date. Professors' email addresses are kept private and used only to deliver emails you choose to send. A professor can ask us to remove their information or stop emails to them by writing to support@uniprofs.in.
8. Your content
You keep ownership of what you upload and write (your profile, documents and emails). You give us permission to store and process it only as needed to run UniProf for you, as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Plans and payments
UniProf has a free plan and paid plans with more features. Paid plans run for the period shown when you buy them and don't renew automatically. Prices are shown before you pay. Refunds are covered by the Refund & Cancellation Policy. Discount and referral codes have no cash value.
10. Suspension and closing your account
We may limit, suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts other users or professors at risk, or harms UniProf's ability to send email. You can stop using UniProf at any time and ask us to delete your account through support.
11. No guarantees
UniProf is provided "as is". We work to keep it available and accurate, but we don't guarantee that it will always be available or error-free, that emails will be delivered or answered, or any result such as a position, internship or admission.
12. Liability
To the extent the law allows, UniProf is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for emails you send or their consequences. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. If changes are significant, we'll tell you in the app or by email before they apply. Continuing to use UniProf after that means you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be handled by the courts of India, unless the law where you live gives you other rights.
